BOOK NOTES
Jeffrey Candelaria to hold workshop at Books on the Bosque
AT BOOKS ON THE BOSQUE
Books on the Bosque will host two author events this week.
At 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, Jeffrey Candelaria of Albuquerque will offer a workshop based on his book “TORO: The Naked Bull.” Candelaria wants readers to consider love, loyalty and courage as being greater than secular accomplishments.
At 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, Glenn Aparicio Parry presents a workshop on “Original Love: The Timeless Source of Wholeness.” It is also the title of the third book of a trilogy. The first two are “Original Thinking: A Radical Revisioning of Time, Humanity and Nature” and “Original Politics: Making America Sacred Again.”
Books on the Bosque is located at 6261 Riverside Plaza Lane NW.
IN SANTA FE
Santa Fe resident Carl Moore will chat about his book “On the Road with On the Road” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Collected Works.
It’s a book of photographs that’s intended to accompany Jack Kerouac’s famous 1957 novel “On the Road.”
Moore’s photos invite readers to see Kerouac’s America with fresh eyes — not as nostalgia — but as a living, breathing terrain.
Kerouac was also a poet and was considered a leading member of the Beat Generation of writers and poets of the 1950s and ’60s.
Collected Works is located at 202 Galisteo St., downtown Santa Fe.
