Looking for some holiday lights?

Here are some spots across the state celebrating the season

Santa Fe’s Canyon Road will be lighted by farolitos on Wednesday, Dec. 24.

A New Mexico tradition, luminarias and farolitos light homes and paths across the state as the nights become longer and the weather turns colder.

While tickets to ABQ Ride’s Luminaria Tour are sold out, the event encourages taking a self-guided tour.

“If you’re not doing the Luminaria Tour, you can always park nearby those neighborhoods in the country club area and just walk,” Madeline Skrak, Transit Department public information officer, said.

“People always have fires in their front yards and are out and about,” she said, “and it’s a very friendly atmosphere to enjoy Christmas lights and luminarias and just to say hello to neighbors and build community.”

There are also options in Elephant Butte, Santa Fe, Las Cruces and more, for a chance to catch that holiday glow across the Land of Enchantment.

Slip on those jackets, grab your favorite hot beverage and take a walk (or drive) among the lights.
