A 130 foot long banner containing the names of 7500 Palestinians killed since the war between Israel and Hamas broke out, was displayed in front to the federal building Santa Fe, Wednesday, November 1, 2023. The banner was produced by Earth Care/YUCCA, Youth United for Climate Crisis Action, and was part of a protest that included Santa Feans for Justice in Palestine, Women in Black, Southwestern Coalition for Palestine and Veterans for Peace. Around 100 people took part in the protest outside the building that contains offices for U.S. Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez and Sen. Ben Ray Lujan. A copy of the names was delivered to people from the offices of Rep. Fernandez, Sen. Lujan and Sen. Heinrich. The group is demanding a ceasefire in the war. The activist said the banner was printed last week and over 1000 people have been killed since.
