100 years of kicks on Route 66

Albuquerque kicked of the 100-year celebration of Route 66 on Saturday.

Bands, food trucks, local businesses and other entertainment packed Central Avenue for more than a mile, from Girard to Washington.

A myriad of music got adults, kids and pets boogieing in the street into the night.

The city is preparing for the centennial celebration of Route 66, which is next year.
