APD investigating an early Thursday morning pedestrian fatality in NW ABQ

The Albuquerque Police Department's Motor Unit has taken over an investigation into a crash that led to a pedestrian fatality early Thursday morning near the intersection of Coors NW and Interstate 40.

Officers responded around midnight to the area of Coors and St. Joseph NW to reports of a car hitting a pedestrian, said APD spokesman Chase Jewell in a statement.

Jewell said when officers arrived, they found the person dead.

No other details have been released at this time.
