APD investigating fatal shooting in Northeast Albuquerque

A woman is dead after a shooting in Northeast Albuquerque on Tuesday afternoon.

Police did not release the woman's identity.

Around 5:20 p.m., the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a call of a suspicious person in the 4800 block of Carlisle NE, near Interstate 25.

When officers arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound. She died at the scene, APD spokesperson Gilbert Gallegos said in a news release.

"Homicide detectives were called to the scene to start an investigation," he said. "Additional details will be released when available."
