Fast Attack Engine responds to cold weather calls

Published Modified

Albuquerque Fire Rescue's new Fast Attack Engine is back in service, having replaced the reserve brush truck. AFR plans to use the truck to respond to small outdoor fires during the winter season.

The Fast Attack Engine was first used in a pilot program, starting Dec. 30, 2023. The engine operated until April, when it was temporarily retired. The engine went back into service in November as outdoor temperatures started to drop.

Since going into service, the Fast Attack Engine responded to 800 outside fire calls in November and over 770 calls in December.
