Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office seeks info on missing former NM State Police officer
A former New Mexico State Police officer is missing.
The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Richard Hoak, 68, who was last seen on Jan. 7 in the area of Atrisco and Draxton, a BCSO Facebook post states.
“Due to the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, law enforcement is concerned for his safety,” according to BCSO.
Hoak is 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 240 pounds, with gray hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and white shoes, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office.
Hoak’s niece, Tessa Brooks, told the Journal that the former New Mexico State Police officer and U.S. Navy veteran does not have his cellphone with him, and he left his truck at home.
“He just doesn’t go off the grid,” she said. “He never went missing before.”
Brooks described her uncle as “very friendly” and “very talkative.”
If anyone has information, BCSO said people can call missing persons detectives at (505) 695-9747.
