Carlisle closed between Lomas and Constitution due to water line break

Water line breaks on Carlisle

Carlisle between Lomas and Constitution is scheduled to reopen Friday after being closed since Jan. 27 due to a waterline break.

Parts of Carlisle could be shutdown for most of the week after a water line broke Monday afternoon.

At about 12:45 p.m., a 24-inch concrete cylinder water line broke in the 800 block of Carlisle, between Constitution and Lomas NE. This caused some “localized” water outages, Utility Authority spokesperson David Morris said.

The number of customers affected is unknown and the cause of the water line break has yet to be determined.

“I haven’t heard reports of property damage,” he said.

The water line should be repaired by Monday afternoon or evening; however, the road closure could extend through most of the week “for repaving and concrete to cure and that kind of thing,” Morris said.

In the meantime, Morris said people can take a detour on Constitution and Lomas to Girard or San Mateo, he said.
