If you are looking for fun Halloween activities that the whole family can enjoy, trunk-or-treat events are a good place to start.

In addition to being a safe place to take candy from strangers in vans, many of these events will feature costume contests, haunted houses, food and games, a car show and even a scavenger hunt.

Here are 10 family-friendly trunk-or-treat events happening in Albuquerque.

Mad Science Trunk-or-Treat

Hosted by the Girls Scouts of New Mexico Trails, this event will feature not only trunks and treats, but also science demonstrations, experiments, crafts and games led by local scientists. Girl Scouts can host a trunk or treat when you sign up with your troop or guardian online.

Big Brother's Big Sister's Halloween Spooktacular

This event will have indoor trick or treating, food, games, a haunted house and a trunk or treat car show.

Westgate Community Center Trunks & Treats

This event will bring community members music, games, food trucks and treats. The Paleta Bar will be at the event as well.

Faith Lutheran Church Fall Festival & Trunk or Treat

This event will include games, food trucks, trunks full of treats, music, snow cones and prizes.

Trunk or Treat for a Cure

This event hosted by Melloy Los Lunas auto dealerships will be a scavenger hunt, families must find the answers to clues and receive candy at each stop. Participants will be eligible for big screen TV prizes. A costume contest will have prizes for several categories, and the first 200 families will receive a carving-sized pumpkin. This event aims to raise money for the Children's Cancer Fund of New Mexico. The event is free, but a $5 donation for the ticket is suggested, 100% of which would go toward the fund.

Wild Side 2 Smoke Shop Trunk-or-Treat

This event will feature a classic car show, raffles, carnival games, food and prizes, as well as a costume contest. There will also be local vendors and artists, face painting and games.

Raffle tickets are $1 each or $20 for 25, and part of the proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Saranam.

Trunk-or-Treat at Parnall Law

Random gifts will be awarded for the most creative costumes.

This is the 14th annual trunk-or-treat event in Corrales.

If you would like to donate candy to the event, drop it off at the village office or the recreation center.
