Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is heading out of state for a week. Here's what her schedule looks like.
SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is set to travel to New Jersey, Michigan and Washington, D.C., over the next week.
A spokeswoman said Lujan Grisham is first headed to the National Governors Association meetings in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Public sessions are dedicated to addressing youth mental health, improving maternal and infant health, and speeding up infrastructure projects.
While there, the governor plans to meet with Federal Emergency Management Agency and Department of Defense officials about wildfire recovery efforts and supporting military families, Lujan Grisham spokeswoman Caroline Sweeney said.
After that, the governor is off to Michigan for a meeting of female Democratic governors and then to Washington on Sunday to visit officials at the White House.
She is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on early childhood programs at a White House event July 19, after which she'll return to New Mexico.
Lt. Gov. Howie Morales will serve as acting governor in the meantime.
