Man fatally struck by train north of Downtown
A man was killed after being hit by a Rail Runner train on Indian School near Second Street late Monday afternoon.

A man was killed after being hit by a Rail Runner Express train on Indian School near Second Street on Monday evening, according to a New Mexico State Police email.
Police did not release the man’s identity.
At 5:51 p.m., Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a report of a train derailment. When firefighters arrived, they learned there wasn’t a derailment. Instead, a person had been hit by a Rail Runner train, according to an AFR email.
First responders unsuccessfully attempted life-saving measures on the man, according to AFR.
“At this time, westbound Indian School at Broadway is closed as an investigation is underway,” New Mexico State Police spokesperson Amanda Richards said at 6:28 p.m. Monday.
