An unidentified man was fatally shot during a shooting involving police officers at a gas station in Northeast Albuquerque Monday evening, Albuquerque Police Chief Harold Medina said in a press conference.

No officers were injured in the shooting that took place at the Speedway off San Mateo and Cutler, Medina said.

Medina said the man had pointed the gun at a 4-year-old child several times. When officers arrived, they tried giving him orders before "shots were fired." It is unclear who fired first.

Medina also said three other people were shot on Monday. It is unclear what happened involving the three people. Police will be looking at surveillance from the gas station.

Medina said the child is safe and police are trying to track down their mother.
