2 Board Veterans Seeking APS Seat

Two former Albuquerque school board members are among the five candidates seeking to fill the North Valley seat on the board of education.
Tuesday was the filing date for candidates in the Albuquerque Public Schools and Central New Mexico Community College board elections on Feb. 3.
Leonard DeLayo and Aggie Lopez, who sat on the board together in the 1990s, are running for the North Valley seat that will be vacated by Berna Facio.
Others running in District 3 are former salesman Jeffrey C. Rich; Lorenzo L. Garcia, an executive director for Youth Building Better Lives, and Anna L. Armijo, a retired secretary for associate superintendent Linda Sink.
n District 5, near Northeast Heights and Southeast Heights incumbent Paula Maes, Renée Louise Rosales, a parent and executive assistant at Jalapeño Corp., and Carolyne De Vore-Parks, public relations director for the League of Women Voters.
n District 6, Foothills and East Mountain area incumbent Mary Lee Martin and PNM project manager David L. Robbins.
n District 7 seat, Far Northeast Heights Michael L. Swisher of United Way, sales representative Patrick J. Marron and David Eugene Peercy, a software engineer at Sandia National Laboratories.
CENTRAL NEW MEXICO
Incumbents Robert Matteucci and Blair Kaufman are running unopposed in Districts 1 and 5, respectively.
n District 3 incumbent Jeff Armijo, Deborah L. Moore of Rio Rancho and Nick D. Brennan of Albuquerque.
n District 7 Jerry Leonard Scott and Michael D. DeWitte.
