Local 9/11 Memorial Services
Albuquerque and the Blue Star Mothers will host a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony from noon to 1 p.m. today at the Harry E. Kinney Civic Plaza in Downtown Albuquerque on Third Street between Marquette and Tijeras.
During the event, Blue Star Mothers will accept donations for specific items needed by service members deployed overseas.

A memorial service and candlelight vigil for 9/11 victims and for troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan will be held from 8 to 9 p.m. today at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 Fourth St. SW.
It will include a reading of the names of the 47 service members with ties to New Mexico who have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The event is presented by the cultural center, the state Veterans Services Department, Women Veterans of New Mexico, Blue Star Mothers, Gold Star Mothers, and the New Mexico Patriot Guard Riders.
