Metropolitan Court will not host Valentine's Day weddings next month

Court will continue to perform weddings on weekdays

There will be no "I dos" on Valentine's Day at the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court this year.

Since the Feb. 14 holiday falls on a Saturday, the court will be closed.

But don't be heartbroken, lovebirds. Metro Court judges will continue to perform weddings on weekdays throughout the year at no cost. Couples interested in scheduling a ceremony should call 505-841-8285, court spokesperson Camille Cordova said.

Couples must first get a marriage license from the County Clerk's Office and bring two witnesses on the day of the ceremony to sign the license, she said.
