Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers is looking for a man and woman accused of attempting to steal a pickup, then shooting at its owner and her boyfriend in Northeast Albuquerque.
On Sept. 15, the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a call of an aggravated assault at the Cibola Village Apartments in the 12400 block of Montgomery, near Tramway.
A woman told police a man and woman tried stealing her red pickup by removing the back passenger window and attempting to hot-wire the vehicle, Crime Stoppers Coordinator Alicia Hernandez said.
The woman told police that when she confronted the pair, the woman — described as about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with purple and red highlights wearing all black — pulled out a firearm from her purse and fired "several shots" at her and her boyfriend before getting in a white early 2000s Chevrolet driven by a third person, who headed north on Montgomery, Hernandez said.
The woman's boyfriend is described as between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall, bald and wearing a Chicago Bulls jersey, Hernandez said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers, anonymously at 505-843-STOP (7867), p3tips.com/531 or text “ABQCS” to 738477, she said.
