Person injured when struck by driver in Northeast Albuquerque
A person is in the hospital after walking into traffic and getting hit by a vehicle late Tuesday near Interstate 25.
APD spokeswoman Franchesca Perdue said the investigation found that, due to slow moving traffic, the driver of the vehicle did not see the pedestrian enter the roadway.
"There was no pedestrian crosswalk where the incident happened," she said.
Perdue said around 5 p.m. officers responded to a pedestrian crash in the 5400 block of San Antonio Drive near the I-25 frontage road. She said the initial investigation found that the pedestrian ran into two lanes of traffic before being hit by the vehicle.
Perdue said the person was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
