A hiker was taken to a hospital after suffering a lower leg injury during a hike on Saturday.
It is unclear how they got injured.
Just before 9 a.m., Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a call of hiker who was hurt 1.5 miles up the Pino Trail, according to an AFR social media post.
After the person gave first responders an exact location, a member of the hiking party met crews at the Elena Gallegos Open Space trailhead. First responders treated and packaged the hiker before removing them in a wheeled stokes basket, according to AFR.
The person was later taken to a local hospital.
