RACCOON REVIVAL: Oddities & Curiosities Expo brings a unique art form to Albuquerque
On Saturday, the Sleeping Sirens Oddities raccoon taxidermy class buzzed with excitement as 50 students brought new life into their raccoon specimens at the Oddities & Curiosities Expo at Expo New Mexico.
For five years, Sleeping Sirens Oddities, based in central Florida, has captivated attendees with fresh, unusual workshops at each expo.
Colleen Wagenblast, an assistant instructor, explained that the specimens are sustainably sourced through wildlife management partnerships, adding that gathering enough specimens for these workshops can take years.
The expo runs through Sunday, March 8.
