Firefighters rescued three people from a balcony during a house fire Saturday afternoon on Albuquerque's West Side.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to the fire at a two-story, single-family residence at 919 Galeras NW, tucked in a neighborhood between Ladera and Interstate 40, around 5:15 p.m., according to the agency. Officials said the fire was "knocked down" within minutes.

"Damage to the structure was significant mostly on the second floor of the structure," AFR said.

AFR said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined and that the Fire Investigations division is looking into it.

The people who were rescued sustained minor injuries, AFR said.
