New Mexico High School Juniors Prep for New Exam

Associated Press
CLOVIS — High school juniors across New Mexico are gearing up for a new state test. Students are required to pass a skills test before they graduate high school.
New Mexico Public Education Department officials say the new test was necessary to better prepare students for college and the work force.
School counselors tell the Clovis News Journal that the new test requires students to do more critical thinking.
Education officials say students will take the test March 29 through March 31 and then April 5 through April 7.
Juniors who do not pass the exam the first time get two more chances to pass the portions they failed.
