Teen dies in overnight shooting in Southwest Albuquerque
17-year-old boy dies from his injuries; girl the same age is in stable condition
Two teenagers sitting in a vehicle outside a convenience store were shot — one of them fatally — on Tuesday evening in Southwest Albuquerque.
Albuquerque police spokesman Gilbert Gallegos said the shooting happened around 8 p.m. at the Allsup's at 9501 Gibson SW, east of Unser.
"Both victims were transported to a local hospital," Gallegos said in a news release.
A 17-year-old boy subsequently died from his wounds, while a girl the same age, who was shot multiple times, is in stable condition, he said.
Gallegos did not say if anyone was in custody for the shooting or if police had any suspects.
This is a developing story.
