It seems as if TRUMP'S ECONOMY is designed to create an entire new group of poorer people desperate for employment to replace the job positions being vacated by all the other desperate people he is deporting. JMR

As the Trump administration ends SNAP benefits and other programs to provide the money for tax breaks to the top 1% and corporations, NM's universal child care program will go a long way toward helping NM families survive the cut backs of the Trump oligarchy to lower- and middle-income Americans. If Republicans really cared about tax cuts and small businesses, they would vote to keep the expanded OBAMACARE subsidies in place. The ACA is how small business owners and their employees get health insurance. Without Obamacare, not sure if we would have taken the risk of starting our business. EF

I don't know why people are worried about HEALTH INSURANCE. Trump has been promising since 2016 that his plan, which would provide more coverage to more people at lower cost, would be released in days. I am sure that after nine years of promises, it will be out in time. AF

Regarding "Trump leaving nursing off professional degrees list an ‘insult,’ New Mexico union says" (Dec. 13): Your article on NURSING being labeled "not a profession" to defund graduate education missed a major factor. Nursing faculty must have graduate degrees. Where will we get the faculty to address the nursing shortage if we don't fund graduate nursing education? ML

Why are civic leaders like EDD Secretary Rob Black are so eager to attract NEW INDUSTRIES in order to bring more jobs, which means more out of state migrants coming in to fill them, when we don't have enough primary care doctors for the population we already have? What am I missing? ST

The only way to describe President Trump's remarks about the death of Trump critic ROB REINER and his wife is grossly offensive. Then he tops himself by suing the BBC for $10 billion. That's pretty nuts. Then Lindsey Graham blames the Australia mass shooting on Obama and Biden. Nuts. EJG

At 5:44 PM, President Trump posted that the BROWN UNIVERSITY shooting suspect was in custody. Eight minutes later, at 5:52, Brown University said the 'situation remains ongoing. Continue to shelter in place.' Careless misinformation like this during a school shooting can get people killed. Is the President even being briefed? BF

Just curious, when will Biden admit his tariffs are causing our economy to tank? When will he take responsibility for all the criminals he's pardoned? Why has he consistently sided with Russia? What about Epstein? Oh, wait! He hasn't been president for about a year now has he? My bad. CT

The Trump administration has removed all references to human-caused climate change from Environmental Protection Agency webpages, as well as large amounts of data showing the dramatic warming of the climate over recent decades and the resulting risks. What a gift to big oil! BS

It's too convenient and simple saying people here illegally have no rights. POTUS' heavy-handed immigration policies seek to deport all undocumented immigrants, even productive workers with no criminal records (the vast majority). Immigrants are deported who do the right thing and report to court and authorities. Typical Trump overkill. MY

You have a right to your opinion but you are wrong in stating that immigrants have no rights here. Non-citizens in the US whether undocumented or here legally have constitutional rights including due process, equal protection, freedom of speech, and protection from unreasonable searches and seizures. Where were Republicans this last mayoral election? Less than 1/3 of you showed up to vote during this election. Thanks to you Republicans who didn’t vote, we all now have to live with Keller’s failed policies for another four years. RB

Daymon Ely’s ethics complaint has become a distraction when Albuquerque needs focus and unity. Mayor Keller has the mandate to lead our city forward. Cut the political noise, emphasize transparency, and get back to real progress. It’s time to make Albuquerque great again through action, not arguments. SR

Could Diego Pavia possibly be more immature? From urinating on the UNM practice field a few years ago to posting on his Instagram feed late last night [December 13] "F** the Heisman Voters". What an embarrassment to the sport and to his home state of New Mexico. LS

Enough already with your coverage of Pavia. He's an absolute embarrassment to the city and teams that he has played for. If Vanderbilt University had any pride in their school or football program, they would say goodbye and never let that him play again. Don't enable him. WB
