The President's renaming the DOD the "DEPARTMENT OF WAR" is fitting, as he is now at war with Greenland, Venezuela, the Federal Reserve Bank, a woman who was shot dead by federal agents, Congressman Kelly and many others. Perhaps the administration should be called the War Administration. SS

Donald Trump says the U.S. needs GREENLAND. He says if we don't take it, China or Russia will, and we don't want them for neighbors. He must forget that Sarah Palin could see Russia from her front porch in Alaska. EJG

Trump's preposterous GREENLAND adventurism comes entirely from Putin. It is designed to destroy NATO. Trump's greed for money and power will destroy us all. FD

Am I missing something here? We’ve been told that VENEZUELA threatens us because of drug trafficking. Since the takeover, not one word about drugs. It’s all about oil — and U.S. corporations controlling Venezuelan oil. Could it be that drugs weren’t the real cause of the U.S. takeover? Nah … AD

When did AMERICAN ATTACKS and threats around the globe become a daily occurrence. And America and American lives go on the back burner? What? Ruining America wasn't enough for Trump? DZ

Trump states the only constraints on his power to order MILITARY ACTIONS around the world is his own morality. That is truly alarming. Are Americans really OK with being governed by a dictator and his goons? Is this the future we want for our children? KG

Truly ironic that Trump says that the U.S. will take "strong action" if the Iranian government executes protestors there. This while he tells RENEE GOOD'S father that Renee's "actions were pretty tough" after she was shot to death by an ICE agent in Minnesota. How does this make sense? CT

So now Trump is saying that is was OK for ICE to kill RENEE GOOD because she was disrespectful of law enforcement. I guess being disrespectful is now worthy of a death sentence. JH

Who is the homeland terrorist? RENEE GOOD’S smiling last words to the raging ICE agent were, “That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you.” A male voice can be heard on the scene calling her a “f***ing b****" after shots were fired, according to footage released to the public. BF

It is ironic that our standing president threatens Iran about its security forces KILLING PROTESTERS when his own government (ICE) forces kill a mother of three children in Minnesota for no proven threat based on actual video evidence, and then lie about it. WDL

Gov. MLG recently stood by Minnesota Gov. Waltz in declaring her support denouncing ICE agents. Waltz can only thank his lucky stars of the diversion away from his FRAUD PROBLEMS. Since NM is a big welfare state could we possibly have similar issues such as Minnesota lurking in the closets? KJ

The ICE Officer who shot Renee Good recorded the events on his hand held phone. Had he been wearing a BODY CAMERA both hands would have been free and his eyes possibly not focused on a three-inch screen. Mandate body cameras to all police for everyone's safety. JMR

Accurate VOTER ROLLS are essential to voter integrity. In this volatile political environment in which we live, maintaining power by either party is paramount, to the point where those in power will use any means to stay in power. The oversight of voter roles should be in private hands. GH

Trump's order to the SMITHSONIAN Institute to remove its reference to his impeachments is another revelation of his authoritarianism, dishonesty and disdain for American history. BH

But who does the Department of Justice decide to investigate? Jerome Powell, who is overseeing the renovation of Fed headquarters. Something does not seem right. AF

The FEDERAL RESERVE is an independent entity and should not be subjected to Trump's hallucinations. He failed in all of his businesses throughout his life except for theft and fraud. He has no business telling Jerome Powell what to do. EN

Netflix's acquisition of WARNER BROS. is just a monopoly becoming a mega-monopoly. Unfortunately that won't mean more work for New Mexico's film crews. SW

Kudos to CABQ on a marked improvement in my Taylor Ranch neighborhood as related to the the discharge of firearms at midnight on NEW YEAR'S EVE. Over the past 20 years the noise level at midnight has been almost intolerable, but this year the noise reduction was most welcomed. RF

Regarding "OPINION: Should New Mexico be renamed?" (Jan. 11 Journal): David Ansell’s column proposing that we RENAME THE STATE has to be one of the most insipid things you’ve ever published. It provides zero evidence that such an action would actually accomplish anything positive. Maybe we should also rename New York, New Jersey and New Hampshire, too? JG
