Opinion: Speak Up!

As Colorado River states negotiate water sharing deals with the Interior secretary, perhaps those negotiations would benefit from reparations for damages due to CLIMATE CHANGE. In the face of dire water availability due to a warming climate, those who are not aggressively addressing green-house gas emissions are the responsible parties. AR

Tuesday marked an important day for addressing climate change and related disasters. The CLEAR HORIZONS BILL passed the Senate Conservation Committee, moving us closer to cleaner air and a healthier future. The cost of climate inaction is enormous: SB 18 will help prevent climate change disasters that cause enormous suffering and financial burden. SML

Once again our LEGISLATORS avoid our most pressing issues (medical malpractice reform, juvenile violence, crime, etc.) and work on climate change and ICE detention centers. Soon we'll have less doctors, more crime and climate will not change. Trial lawyers and progressives are to blame. Please vote for change. KJ

Three branches of NM government have been taken over by ambulance-chasing PERSONAL INJURY LAW FIRMS that take the place of governor, Legislature and courts. Our elected officials will do nothing about it. Our neighboring states do not have this situation. KKW

DEB HAALAND'S platform states she plans to fight President Trump. What about the citizens of NM? What about promoting education so that the state is no longer at the bottom, help doctors who are leaving steadily because of malpractice costs? What experience does she have to make her a good governor? None. CS

One of Minnesota's nicknames is "The Land of 10,000 Lakes." Because Albuquerque's crime and homeless situation have not been properly resolved, residents and businesses have had to protect themselves. They need to keep these individuals off their property. Albuquerque should adopt a new nickname, "THE LAND OF 10,000 FENCES." SSS

From top to bottom the current federal administration must be the most corrupt and incompetent in history. POTUS won't hesitate to destroy our exemplary ELECTION SYSTEM in his unrelenting and unjust attacks because he legitimately lost an election. The mind of POTUS serves only himself, not anyone else. NM and Bernalillo County have been justifiably rated as the most secure voting systems in the country. However, they exercise personal retaliation and bias on whom they allow to be a POLL OFFICIAL. I've been the victim of that. BM

After watching congressional hearings and videos of DHS ENFORCEMENT activities, things are becoming clear. When we talk about dangerous criminals and "the worst of the worst," we're talking about some DHS employees and their leadership. Injuring, detaining and killing U.S. citizens is not acceptable. Remove and prosecute these people now. CT

Protesters holding signs saying "NO ONE IS ILLEGAL ON STOLEN LAND," almost all of the United States is stolen land from the Native Americans and many people are here illegally. It is a process to become a citizen. KS

If it's OK for protesters, rioters and troublemakers to wear MASKS, then it's okay for ICE, SWAT and the Border Patrol to wear masks, too. KK

Let's see, the media has inflamed millions to protest/walk off their jobs over two protesters being killed for resisting and assaulting law enforcement. Where's the outrage over 6,000 protesters being killed by the oppressive DICTATORSHIP IN IRAN? BM

I assume President Trump will next want to remove the famous STATUE OF LIBERTY quote: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." WS

CBS yanks a segment because Peter Attia shows up 1,700 times in the EPSTEIN FILES — fair enough. But it does raise a question: If 1,700 mentions get you pulled from TV, how does being mentioned well over 5,000+ times get someone worshipped by one-third of the country? BF

We need SPEED CAMERAS on freeways. Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and the county have them, and they are on Route 66. It is the freeways that cars are driving over 90 mph where cameras are needed the most. More state troopers are also needed on patrol. SH

I want SCHOOLS cleaned up. Do we have to reinvent the wheel to make APS worthwhile? Aren’t schools doing better elsewhere? Ask for help and how they did it. TE
