Editorial off base in attacks
Editorial writer Jeff Tucker's piece on March 11 has to be a classic in political blindness. Tucker criticizes New Mexico's elected Democrats for their opposition to Donald Trump. He ignores the very obvious fact that Trump regularly scorns and belittles all Democrats. He, like the shell of a party he heads, adamantly opposes any compromising with Democrats. Trump sees all political actions as transactional in which one party wins and the other loses. No lie or misrepresentation of facts is too immense or obscene for Trump to use. No violation of the Constitution, statutory law or long established regulation is off the table for Trump and his lawbreaking crew.
Tucker should deal with reality and not simply send up his political biases. Trump is anti-American and Democrats, both in New Mexico and in the rest of country, are simply calling him out for his dishonesty and unconscionable behavior.
