After dropping seven teams, take a look at Geoff Grammer's AP Top 25 ballot for Dec. 2

I didn't have enough angry replies on my social media posts over the past few days, so let's fix that by posting my weekly AP Top 25 ballot.

College basketball's post-Feast Week ballot is probably the toughest one of the season.

It is a week that features multiple really good, sometimes ranked teams playing other really good, sometimes ranked teams in tournaments all around the country. Inevitably, some will lose, but do so to really good teams.

On the other hand, teams who weren't on a voter's radar just a week ago may knock off a couple ranked teams or win a tournament that grabs your attention and deserves some love.

And there are still just 25 spots.

So, the result is trying to figure out which good teams lost, but maybe don't deserve to drop much and which teams took losses that are a sign they need to drop quite a bit. And, which off-the-radar teams need to kick down that door and get on a voter's ballot after one good week of basketball.

In the case of my ballot, the highlights are these:

• UConn (No. 2 in the overall AP poll last week, but No. 3 on my ballot last week) went from nation's longest win streak and back-to-back national champion to off my ballot. Do I think they'll get back on my ballot? Yes. But I couldn't justify this team, after last week, being ranked right now.

• I dropped seven power conference teams off my ballot from last week.

• This is my first ballot of the season with a Mountain West team making an appearance. I couldn't even tell you with full confidence who the best of the top five teams in the Mountain West is, but after last week's thumping of Creighton and overtime win over Houston, San Diego State has the league's best win and right now is most deserving of being ranked.

• Closer to home, if you will, the Arizona State team that narrowly beat the New Mexico Lobos on Thanksgiving night in Palm Desert, Calif., is now ranked on my ballot. Not only did they win the Acrisure Classic with wins over UNM and Saint Mary's, their only loss of the season was at Gonzaga in a game they still had a chance to win in the final minute. This is a pretty good Sun Devils team.

So, without further chatter, here you go. My perfect AP Top 25 ballot for the week. Let me know what you think @GeoffGrammer on X or Bluesky.
