Donald Sanchez is getting his wish.

The BFKC is returning to Albuquerque on June 6, the bare-knuckle fighting promotional company announced on Wednesday, with Albuquerque’s Sanchez challenging BKFC middleweight champion David Mundell in the main event.

Sanchez (4-1 BKFC) had called out Mundell (9-1 BKFC) after the former’s victory by unanimous decision over Harrison Aiken on a Feb. 28 BKFC card at the Kiva Auditorium.

Ed Manzanares, chairman of the New Mexico Athletic Commission, confirmed via text that the NMAC has approved an event permit for the June 6 event.

The BKFC would be returning to New Mexico for its seventh event here since its New Mexico debut at the Rio Rancho Events center in August 2022. Tingley has been the site of three previous BKFC cards. In addition to the card at the Kiva Auditorium, the organization staged a BKFC Prospect Series card at Revel ABQ in January 2024.

All were well-attended, in some cases setting BKFC attendance records.

BKFC cards in New Mexico traditionally have been populated largely with in-state fighters. More information on the card was expected to be released later on Wednesday.

Ticket information is pending.
