It’s on between Albuquerque’s Holly Holm and two-time Olympic judo gold medalist Kayla Harrison, UFC President Dana White announced Tuesday night on X, formerly Twitter.
The two are scheduled to face off on UFC 300, scheduled for T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 13.
Holm (15-6, one no contest), a former UFC bantamweight champion, and Harrison (16-1 in MMA, mostly competing in the Professional Fighters League) are scheduled to fight at Holm’s preferred weight of 135 pounds (bantamweight).
Harrison has never competed at bantamweight. She weighed in at 150.4 pounds for her most recent PFL fight, a victory by unanimous decision over former UFC fighter Aspen Ladd on Nov. 24.
The Holm fight will be Harrison’s debut not only at 135 pounds but in the UFC.

Albuquerque’s Lenny Fresquez, Holm’s longtime Albuquerque promoter and agent, said he likes the matchup, given that the contracted weight is 135 pounds.
“Holly will fight anyone at 135,” he said on Tuesday in a phone interview.
Holm’s most recent fight, a loss by second-round submission to Brazil’s Mayra Bueno Silva on July 15, was declared no contest after Bueno Silva tested positive for a banned substance.
Holm’s future in the UFC bantamweight title picture is murky, since Colorado Springs’ Raquel Pennington defeated Bueno Silva on Saturday for the title vacated by Amanda Nunes’ retirement. Holm has beaten Pennington twice, but it appears likely that Pennington’s first defense will be against former champion Julianna Peña, who took the title from Nunes but lost it in a rematch.
Nonetheless, Fresquez said of the Harrison fight, “This opens up all kinds of doors for Holly.”
