The New Mexico Ice Wolves hosts the division leaders, the Lone Star Brahmas at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday for its blackout weekend, which means the players will dawn their black sweaters for the first time at home this season.

On Saturday night, the team welcomes characters from Lucasfilm Ltd. for its Star Wars Night. Fans are encouraged to come to the game dressed as their favorite character.

LAST WEEK: The Ice Wolves spent Thanksgiving at the beach, taking a road trip down to Corpus Christi, Texas, for a two-game series against the IceRays. Ultimately, the IceRays took the win both nights after an impressive 60 minutes on the ice by both teams.

RECORDS AND STANDINGS: After last weekend, the Ice Wolves are now in third place in the South Division with a 13-9-1-1 record.

The Brahmas hold onto the number one spot in the division with a record of 16-3-1-2.

When the Brahmas visited the Outpost back in October, they split the two-game series. Lone Star won the first night in a high scoring affair that ended 4-3 in overtime after the Brahmas found the back of the net with just 3:47 left on the clock. But the visitors took a 3-2 loss from the Ice Wolves in a shootout in the second game.

PLAYERS TO KNOW: With 12 goals and 12 assists (24 points total) on the season so far, Andy Earl leads the Ice Wolves’ charge. Right behind Earl are captain, Sean Gibbons, and Nayan Pai, both with 18 points total.

Goalie Jackson Silverberg has allowed only 41 goals on 447 shot attempts, good for a 90.8% save percentage.
