Need a ride to the Rate Bowl? Here's how Lobos fans can register for a bus trip, hotel stay
Local man organizing charter bus trip for Lobos fans to watch UNM play Minnesota, Dec. 26 in Phoenix
As he has all year, Jason Eck is looking for a big crowd at the Rate Bowl.
“I’m calling for 10,000 Lobos to be in the stands for this game,” Eck, New Mexico’s first-year head coach, said during a press conference last week. “ … I think this is a big opportunity for our fan base, and I think they’re really gonna step up like they have all year. Let’s get a great crowd there to support this team in our quest to win our 10th game.”
At least one local organizer is trying to make sure that happens.
Bobby Aragon, the owner of Amazing Jumps, Tents & Events, is organizing a chartered bus trip for Lobo fans looking to attend the Rate Bowl (Dec. 26) at Chase Field in Phoenix, UNM’s first bowl game outside Albuquerque since 2004.
A round-trip bus ride and two-night hotel stay (double occupancy) spanning December 25-27 costs $495 per person; the single occupancy option costs $625. The bus ride only option costs $250.
Tickets to the Rate Bowl are not included in any package.
Aragon has previously organized annual trips to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Tournament, in addition to other Lobo sporting events.
Fans can reach him at 505-974-0215 to book a trip or ask for more details.
TAILGATE: UNM Alumni Association is organizing a free tailgate ahead of the Rate Bowl outside Chase Field. The event begins at 11 a.m.
Fans can register for the tailgate at unmalumni.com.
