LAS CRUCES — New Mexico State served up a little payback on the visiting UNM volleyball team tonight, rallying for a five-set win at the Pan American Center.

The Aggies (7-3), who dropped a five-setter Tuesday in Albuquerque, handcuffed the Lobos (8-3) from the service line in a 25-18, 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 15-7 victory. NMSU had 13 aces to UNM's 1 and effectively kept the Lobos out of system in the final two sets.

Gioia Riccato had 13 kills to pace four Lobos in double figures. Addison France posted a triple-double with 10 kills, 14 assists and 17 digs. Reagan Miller finished with 10 kills, and Seenane Brewer had 11.

Tess Fuqua had a match-high 17 kills for NMSU, but the Aggies' service game was the difference. Nellie Reese and Maggie Lightheart had four aces apiece.

After controlling set three, UNM was two points away from sweeping the series with NMSU at 23-23 in set four. But the Aggies got key kills from Fuqua and Zoe Ziegler to force a fifth set and never looked back.

UNM begins conference play Sept. 25 with a 7 p.m. home match against Utah State.
