Video allegedly depicts NMSU's Diego Pavia urinating on UNM practice field
New Mexico State quarterback Diego Pavia carries the ball during the University of New Mexico home game against New Mexico State University at University Stadium in Albuquerque, on Saturday.
On Sunday night, KOB-TV Channel 4 published portions of a video depicting what appears to be New Mexico State quarterback Diego Pavia urinating on a Lobo logo on the field in the University of New Mexico’s indoor practice facility.
It is unclear when the video was taken, who took the video or how Pavia might have gained access to New Mexico’s indoor facility.

UNM Athletics spokesman Frank Mercogliano told the Journal that UNM was made aware of the video last Monday and notified NMSU of its existence. NMSU did not confirm or deny if it is Pavia in the video.
“Any information regarding the discipline of a student would be protected under federal privacy laws,” NMSU spokesman Michael Navarette told the Journal.
Pavia has started for all five of the Aggies’ games, including a 20-17 loss to Hawaii late Saturday in Honolulu.
I was told tonight it's unclear when this may have allegedly occurred, be it last week before/after the rivalry game, or an earlier date.

NM State officials told KTSM it wouldn't comment on any potential disciplinary measures for Diego Pavia, citing federal privacy laws. https://t.co/8bg12RvLJR
An Albuquerque native and Volcano Vista High School graduate, Pavia attended New Mexico Military Institute for two years and won a NJCAA National Championship in 2021.
After transferring to NMSU, he won the starting job and led the Aggies last year to their first bowl victory since 2017.
Pavia made his Rio Grande Rivalry debut Sept. 16, a 27-17 NMSU win at University Stadium. UNM increased security for the game in anticipation of high attendance for an already heated rivalry.
Video of a brawl during the 2022 Lobos-Aggies football game in Las Cruces later spurred a revenge plot, police have said, that ended in a deadly shootout a month later.
Former New Mexico State basketball player Mike Peake left his team hotel and met up with a 17-year-old female UNM student on campus, only for the former to be ambushed around 3 a.m. by three UNM students who were acquaintances of the female student, investigators said.
Peake was in possession of a firearm he legally owned — though by traveling with it, one that also violated university policy — and he shot and killed one of the attackers, Brandon Travis.
Travis was one of the UNM students who fought Peake in the crowd at the UNM-New Mexico State football game. The other attackers told police that Travis was embarrassed by the video’s existence and wanted revenge.
