Alan W. Harvey Alan W. Harvey was born in Spanish Fork, Utah on May 19, 1953, to Willliam and Shirley Harvey and passed away at the age of 71 on January 16, 2025. His family relocated to New Mexico in 1959 where Alan started school, graduating from Sandia High School in 1971. He worked as a teenager at Buffets, selling goods at sporting events in the Albuquerque arenas. He started into metal working and worked at Blue Metal Fab/Sun Metal Fab and DTLI where he achieved great welding skills. His ability to weld and fabricate metals so well led him to be a big help in the auto racing community. He helped many local drivers build their cars, including his brothers, Blaine and Russell. He liked traveling to other racetracks to see how they put on their shows compared to ours. And he joined, in the winter, bowling leagues with all the drivers in the off season. Another joy to Alan was fishing. He was excited when he became an uncle to Zachary and Bradley and could share this activity with them. He also enjoyed target shooting and he went as often as he could get anyone to go with him. He went through some health issues the last few years, but he tried very hard to just keep going forward. We would like to thank his caregivers of the last 5 years, Dorinda and Stephen, for helping him to stay involved and for supporting him in kindness. Also, the staff of Presbyterian Hospital for being there with him as well. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Shirley Harvey, and his sister, Vickie. He is survived by his brothers, Blaine (Evalyn), Russell (Bari), nephews Zachary, Bradley (Halea) and Kadyn Beck, who gave him the title of Great-Uncle in September, 2024. There will be a service for Alan on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 am at Sunset Memorial Gardens, located at 924 Menaul, Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87107. We will have a celebration of Alan's life at a separate location directly after the service. Details will be available there. To know Alan, was to have a friend. Please come join us. Urn bearers: Blaine, Russell, Zachary, Bradley and Kadyn Harvey
