Alex C. Romero 1927-2025 Alex C. Romero, age 98, a resident of Pueblitos, passed away on May 29, 2025. Services will take place at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Thursday, June 5, beginning with a visitation at 9 a.m., a Rosary at 9:30 a.m., and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his loving wife, Emilia Garcia Romero; four children, Nellie Madrid (Gilbert), Carlos Romero, JoAnn Whitehall (Tom) and Carmen Mendoza (Robert); grandchildren, Steve Madrid, Judith Bacica, Laura Baer, Marty and Alicia Romero, Tommy and Stephanie Whitehall and Robert Mendoza; great-grandchildren, Michael and Ryan Bacica, Andrew and Bradley Baer, Dominic and Gemma Romero and Hannah Whitehall; and numerous nephews and nieces. Alex is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Luz Chavez Romero; sisters, Barbara, Nica, Clorinda and Faustina; and brothers, Ernesto and Ignacio. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and Belen Sheriff's Posse from the 1960s to 1970s. His loves were his home, his family, his farm and his animals. The family would like to thank Maria De Chavarria for the amazing and tireless care she provided for Alex and Misty Anaya from Presbyterian Hospice Services for providing such personal medical care and going above and beyond the call of duty.
