Diane Jennings Klepper Diane Jennings Klepper passed away September 11, 2025 at age 90. She served as associate dean for admissions and student affairs for 31 years at UNM School of Medicine. During her tenure she was an advocate for students, encouraging them to practice in NM. As a pulmonologist she treated patients and taught respiratory therapists at CNM. Diane was born in 1934 in Wichita, Kansas to Denny and Elma Klepper. She was educated at Monticello College and Kansas University for a bachelors degree, received a masters from Columbia University, an MD at Kansas University, then served a residency in internal medicine at the U. Washington. While a teenager at Cimarroncita camp inNE NM, she decided to live in NM. She enjoyed the people and terrain. That dream was fulfilled when she accepted a position at UNM Medical School in 1968. She was an advocate for physical fitness, competing in AAU basketball, Olympic track and field trials in 1956, bicycling the Enchanted Circle. Surviving family members include a sister Kay Bales, nephews Robert and Denny Bales as well as many friends and colleagues.
