Ibrahim Atwa Ibrahim "Abe" Atwa passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025. He spent his last years with his loving grandchildren. To them, he will always be "Giddo" who snuck them cookies and played the upside down game. He had a profound love for his grandchildren, leaving comfort and familiarity to relocate to help care for them during their infant and toddler years. Ibrahim had an unmatched charisma, enduring curiosity, wicked sense of humor, and ability to reach across difference to make lasting friends. In recognition of the pride he had in the contributions to humanity made by his beautiful homeland, he will be buried in Egypt surrounded by the echoes of the history his ancestors helped create. "I shall be with you in this and other worlds. Though apart, I am a part of you. Neither death nor spite nor fear nor ignorance stops my love for you."
