Juan Anthony Aragon Juan Anthony Aragon, age 57, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends after battling complications from kidney failure. He was born on August 24, 1967, at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, New Mexico, to Juan and Mary Frances Aragon. He lived with his family in Albuquerque for 35 years. Juan's journey through life began in Taos, where he attended Taos Municipal Schools from kindergarten through eleventh grade. He graduated with the class of 1986 from Questa High School. A natural athlete, Juan thrived in sports, excelling in football and basketball, but baseball was his true passion. From Little League to high school, college, and beyond, baseball was the heartbeat of his youth. He was a proud member of the Taos High School Baseball Team that placed second in the State Baseball Tournament in 1985. Juan's love for the game continued as he coached numerous championship teams, passing on his passion and knowledge to the next generation. On a baseball scholarship, he attended Saint Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, Kansas, where he pitched for the team and met the love of his life, Dana Bishop. They married in 1989 and returned to New Mexico to raise their two children, Justin and Jordan. Throughout his life, Juan formed friendships wherever he went whether through sports, his work as a salesman, or simply through his warm and genuine nature. If you met Juan, you had a friend for life. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for others were unmatched, and he was always there to encourage others to achieve their goals. As a child, Juan spent countless days in Mora, New Mexico, working alongside his grandfather, Joe, on the farm and ranch, sharing special moments with his brother and sister. In Taos, his father kept him busy raising livestock, and Juan cherished the time he spent with a Shetland pony, riding down Santistevan Lane. Juan was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Frances Aragon; his maternal grandparents, Joe and Agnes Martinez; his paternal grandparents, Amadeo and Dionicia Aragon; his uncles, Joseph Martinez, Gene Martinez, and Leo Aragon; his aunt, Angela "Ginger" Aragon; his father-in-law, Gary Bishop; and his brother-in-law, Will Bishop. He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Dana; his children, Justin and Jordan Aragon; his beloved grandson, Jayden; and granddaughter, Kennedy; his father, Juan Aragon; his sister, Luz Aragon; his brother, Joseph Aragon (Rebecca); his mother-in-law, Sonita Bishop; his aunt, Cecille Martinez (Jim); his uncles, John Martinez (Andrea) and Robert Martinez (Betsy); as well as numerous cousins, extended family, and countless friends whose lives he touched. Juan's legacy of love, friendship, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
