Judith "Judy" Lee Judy Lee passed away peacefully in her home in Albuquerque on January 26, 2025. She was born Judith Lee Johnson in Pipestone, Minnesota on October 14, 1941, and later shortened her name to Judith Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ing Johnson and Lois Klinsing, and is survived by several cousins scattered across the country. Judy moved from Minnesota to Denver for a short time before settling in Albuquerque for over 50 years. She had a lengthy career with the Federal government, first with the US Geological Survey and later with the US Forest Service. In the early days of computer networking, she was instrumental in getting the New Mexico district of the USGS connected and the employees trained. Later, while employed with the Forest Service, Judy brought her mother, Lois, to Albuquerque and found her a job there too. Her mother worked for the Forest Service into her 90s, long after Judy's early retirement which was brought about due to serious back problems. Judy was very active in her younger years. She loved skiing, dancing, and swimming. She obtained a certification in scuba diving at Blue Hole in New Mexico, and in later life, you could often find her and Lois poolside at Judy's condo. She and Lois also traveled extensively together, and Judy had volumes of pictures to help her keep those cherished memories. When asked for one word to describe her, friends and family will often respond with "organized." She was certainly that! Judy will be missed. Her remains will be interred beside her mother in her hometown of Pipestone. A service in Albuquerque will be forthcoming in March at Daniel's Funeral Home on Wyoming. The date of the service is yet to be determined.
