Ken Shoquist Kenneth "Ken" Shoquist, 93, born July 10, 1931,
Ken Shoquist Kenneth "Ken" Shoquist, 93, born July 10, 1931, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, in Albuquerque, NM. Known for his strong work ethic, loyalty to friends and family, generosity, and notorious sense of humor, Ken's legacy of love and laughter will never be forgotten. An avid card player and golfer, Ken cherished friendships at Four Hills Country Club, achieving a hole-in-one twice despite never considering himself a great golfer. Ken was also a Silver Life Master bridge player, and he and his wife made many lifelong friends at Duke City Bridge Club. Growing up on the family farm in Montana without electricity and running water, he was the youngest of six siblings, often riding his horse, Sandy, to school until he obtained his driver's license at age 11. Ken joined the Air Force to finance his education through the GI Bill and served during the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Montana in the late 1950s, earning his CPA. In 1976, Ken and family moved from Portland, OR to Albuquerque after purchasing the Hyster Forklift Dealership. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sue; children Stephanie Lyon (Matt); Stacy Shoquist (Mike Falkenthal); and Kenny Shoquist (Annette); and six grandchildren, Jamie and Nick Lyon, Lauren and Brielle Nagyvary, and Allison and Grant Shoquist. Many thanks to Ken's wonderful caregivers, Letti Rodriguez, Kristen Rojas, and Randi Gallegos. He will be buried at Santa Fe National Cemetery with military honors.
