Laurette (Ouellette) Svejcar In Loving Memory of Laurette

Laurette (Ouellette) Svejcar In Loving Memory of Laurette Ouellette-Svejcar April 1, 1931 - May 3, 2025 With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of Laurette Ouellette-Svejcar, a long-time resident of Rio Rancho, NM, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 3, 2025. Her long life was a reflection of compassion, humility, and unwavering faith. Born in Aroostook County, Maine, Laurette was the beloved daughter of Edward and Addie Ouellette, hardworking and devoted parents who preceded her in death. She grew up surrounded by 15 siblings, whose strong bonds shaped her into the nurturing, gentle woman we came to cherish. Laurette is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings, Violet Ouellette Daigle (89), her dear sister and lifelong best friend, and brother Donald Ouellette (80). Their enduring connection remained a source of joy and strength throughout her life, especially in her final years. Laurette was the mother of three daughters: Charlene Shelly-Thomas, Barbara Archuleta, and Yvonne Svejcar. She endured the heartbreaking loss of Yvonne at just nine years old in 1972, following a long illness, and later grieved the passing of her eldest daughter Charlene in 2019 at the age of 65, after a courageous years-long battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving daughter Barbara Archuleta, who finds peace in knowing her mother is now in a better place. Laurette's greatest pride came from sharing pictures of her family. She was a deeply loved grandmother, survived by five grandchildren: Don Daniel III, Mickie Antognoli, Steve Tammaro, Lars Egenes, Laurette Partain, and preceded in death by her grandson Benjamin Egenes. Her nurturing heart extended to her six great-grandchildren, and in her final months, she was blessed to hold her first great-great-grandchild, a treasured moment filled with joy and love. Professionally, Laurette devoted her life to caregiving. With kindness and tenderness, she cared not only for her own children and grandchildren, but also for many seniors in her community. Her work was marked by dignity, compassion, and a truly servant-hearted love. Despite the miles that often separated her from loved ones, Laurette remained close to many through heartfelt phone calls and cherished conversations. Her weekly talks with her sister Violet, and the steady love and support from her niece Lisa Daigle Liburdi, provided companionship and strength throughout her later years. The family also wishes to express deep appreciation to her grandson Don Daniel III, for his steadfast role as her legal guardian during her final stage of life. Though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted knowing that Laurette has reunited in heaven with her beloved daughters and all those she loved and lost. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NIV) "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." She will be cremated and no public services will be held. Her family invites loved ones to celebrate her life privately and in their own way.
