Melanie Cotinola Melanie Cotinola, age 49, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully in her home on November 16, 2025. Melanie Mary Cotinola was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, and godmother whose battle against cancer took her life too soon. Melanie had a beautiful soul and touched everyone's heart that she came into contact with. She was caring, selfless, gentle and a treasure to many. You could find her on the dance floor, planting fresh flowers, or being the loudest on the sidelines supporting her girls in all their endeavours. Melanie was a devoted sonographer who gave 20+ years to the New Mexico Heart Institute where she showed her passion for taking care of others. Her beautiful big brown eyes and contagious laugh would light up any room that she walked in. She will be forever missed, and the memories made with her will last a lifetime. Melanie is preceded in death by her siblings, Yvette Baca and Billy Baca; grandparents, Ubaldo and Celina Romero and Ramon and Geneva Baca. She is survived by her husband, George Cotinola; daughters Georgieana (and her fiancà Ray Duran), Izabella, and Milani Cotinola; parents Billy Baca and Rosemary Torres; in-laws George and Carmen Cotinola; sisters Valerie Cotinola and Christie Cotinola; nephews Billy Baca, his son Billy Baca IIII, Mateo Chavez and Charles Montoya; Niece Mariah Marquez; Godchildren Steven Miera, Lexie and Leah Romero, Gabrielle Baldonado and Jordan Baca. Services will take place on Thursday, December 4th, 2025. The rosary and funeral mass will be at Immaculate Conception Church starting at 11am. The interment will take place at 1pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
