Phil "Ray" Pohl August 7, 1948 - January 31, 2025 Phil Pohl was born and raised in Albuquerque to Johnny and Criselda, with sister Catherine and brother David. Ray has three sons Leonard, Chris, and Josh with Reita. He later married Lorraine and they were together for 36 years. Lorraine has children Howard, Samantha, Devon, and Casey, Heather, Chris, Brittany. Ray was a Vietnam vet whose favorite quote "Improvise, adapt, overcome, and survive" helped him through his Air Force career as a B-52H navigator. Ray's favorite pastime was photography and he took hundreds of photos a day at the balloon fiesta. Every year, Ray would mail out balloon fiesta calendars and photo CDs to family and friends. Ray was also camera ready for many family celebrations. The Pohl, Marquez, and Barela families are so very grateful to the countless memories that Ray shared with his pictures. He was a member and historian for 21 years with the American Legion Post 13. Services to be held at San Ignacio Church, 1300 Walter St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102 on Monday, February 24, 2025. A Rosary to follow at 9:30am, then Mass at 10am on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetary. Your family prays for your peaceful journey and will always miss your witty jokes.
