Susan C. Anthony Susan C. Anthony of Rio Rancho, New Mexico departed this life unexpectedly on February 6, 2025 while vacationing in Arizona with her beloved husband, Bill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Powell Hayman and Marguerite Hughes; and her brother, Clyde Hayman. Susan was born on January 21, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. When she was eight years old, her family moved to Salisbury, Maryland, where she spent the first half of her life. In 1986, Susan married the love of her life, William H. Anthony. Over the years the two of them lived in Maryland, New Jersey, California, Florida, New Mexico, and Arizona, eventually settling in Rio Rancho. Susan is survived by her husband Bill, children Donna Schaeffer (Kevin), Dana Stringer (Todd), and Doug McCabe (Jessica), step-children Mercedes Monroe, Paul Anthony (Sheri), and Joseph Anthony, grandchildren Emily Stringer, Alexandra Prevoznik, Caroline Schaeffer, Nicole Madrid, Patrick Schaeffer, and Christian McCabe, and two great-grandchildren George and Priscilla Prevoznik. Susan was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a great cook, handing down many cherished recipes to her children and grandchildren. Susan loved pets, adopting multiple rescue beagles. She enjoyed knitting, genealogy, word games, playing cards and mahjong, but most of all, she and Bill loved traveling the country in their RVs. She thoroughly enjoyed her life, and she will be dearly missed.
