This Airbnb in New Mexico is designed after a modern earthship
Featured in the winter issue of Dwell magazine, this one-of-a-kind Airbnb in El Prado is designed after a modern earthship.
This sustainably built and run Airbnb is something you will have to see to believe. Off-grid? Yes. Fast internet? Also yes. Climate controlled by design and material. This earthen structure features a beautiful adobe interior, south-facing greenhouse, well insulated by the earth it was built into.
With a coveted "perfect score" on Airbnb (5.0), this special abode was designed with minimal footprint in mind. From breathtaking views, to modern amenities (bluetooth sound system, and a 65’ TV). This isn’t a traditional home but it is a peaceful one. The main living space is referred to as the Corner Cottage - and includes all of the comforts from home. This home collects rain, generates its own electricity with solar and batteries, grows food indoors, and uses water three times before being dispersed into a planter outside.
This Airbnb is located seven minutes form the Rio Grande Gorge, 10 minutes from Taos airport, 15 minutes to Manby Hot Springs, and 40 minutes from Taos Ski Valley.
The owners love talking about sustainable housing, and have been highly reviewed for their prompt communication and response to questions. Listed under $400/night.
