3 Named to Investment Panel

SANTA FE Gov. Bill Richardson on Wednesday named three business leaders to the State Investment Council.
The Democratic governor named to the council Andrew A. Davis of Santa Fe, Julie Weaks Gutierrez of Albuquerque and Michael Stanford of Albuquerque.
Davis is president and mutual fund manager of Davis Selected Advisers, L.P. Weaks Gutierrez is vice president for business and finance at the University of New Mexico.
Stanford is chairman and chief executive officer of First State Bank and former chairman of the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce.
The council and state investment officer Gary Bland, a former Boeing Co. executive named earlier this year by Richardson, are responsible for investing about $10 billion in the state's land-grant and severance-tax permanent funds.
