Tour de arte
The Placitas Studio Tour is returning for its 28th year from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 9, Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11. The event features over 60 studio locations spread over seven neighborhood areas. Visit placitasstudiotour.org for a tour map and list of participating artists.
Pollen all plant lovers
The Alvarado Park Neighborhood Association is hosting a Pollinator Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10. Eventgoers can learn about native plants and make seed bombs, and there will be food trucks, free activities, music and more. The festival will take place at the corner of Alvarado Drive and Haines Avenue NE.
All that jazz
The Open Space Visitor Center is hosting a Mother’s Day jazz concert featuring Last Call at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 10. The event is free and concertgoers should bring their own food and seating/blanket. The visitor center is located at 6500 Coors Blvd. NW.
Taking refuge
Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge is holding a “Saturday at the Refuge” event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10. The free event features activities, arts and crafts and more. The refuge is located at 7851 Second St. SW. Visit fws.gov/refuge/valle-de-oro.
The sounds of music
The Santa Fe Symphony is bringing you a quartet of Youth Spring Showcases this weekend. Performances start at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, May 10. Tickets are $10 santafesymphony.org. The Lensic Performing Arts Center is located at 211 West San Francisco St., Santa Fe.
Dynamic duos
Chatter is bringing you the music of Jörg Widmann in two events this weekend. The concerts are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at the Center for Contemporary Arts, 1050 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe; and at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 11, at 912 Third St. NW. Tickets for the Santa Fe concert are $5-$17, and pay what you wish for the Albuquerque concert at chatterabq.org.
Curiouser and curiouser
The New Mexico Young Actors are bringing “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” to the South Broadway Cultural Center at 1:30 and 4 p.m. Saturday, May 10. Tickets are $12-$14 at artsandculture.cabq.gov. The South Broadway Cultural Center is located at 1025 Broadway Blvd. SE.
