RFK off to bad start

When RFK Jr was questioned in his confirmation hearings, he promised to maintain current vaccination schedules and to turn to scientists to assure the health and safety of Americans.

What has happened?

With the first measles death in the U.S. in a decade, Kennedy claimed in the cabinet meeting that measles is an annual event in the U.S. and there is nothing to worry about — contradicting decades of science.

In the face of one of the worst flu outbreaks in the U.S. in several years, RFK cancelled the annual meeting which determines which aspects of the flu the vaccine for the fall should use to protect us. Since it takes six months to develop the new flu vaccine, the cancellation of the meeting means the flu vaccine may not be available on time, if at all.

So much for relying on science.

So much for protecting the American public.
