A loud grito, or shout, comes from the National Hispanic Cultural Center, “Viva México!”

The National Hispanic Cultural Center, in collaboration with the Consul of Mexico, celebrated the 215th anniversary of Mexico’s independence on Monday. It was the second year this event took place at the cultural center.

“It is a way for us to share and preserve our traditions,” said Patricia Pinzón, the head cónsul of México in Albuquerque.

Attendees were able to watch performances from Danza Azeteca, grab a taco, play a game of loteria and take part in the “Grito de la Independencia.”
